GamEscape – Armageddon.
Location: Liverpool
Game Date 18/01/2017.
Team: Amy & Ian
THIS GAME HAS NOW CLOSED
Theme:
“Scientists have discovered a massive asteroid that is on course to hit the Earth. If it strikes will destroy a whole continent or potentially wipe out life on the planet. Only a few people have access into the abandoned military bunker to activate a secret weapon capable to save the human race and the planet.
You only have 60 minutes left to find out how to destroy the asteroid, before it’s too late”
The theme was thorough, technical and a little bit sterile, everything you’d expect from a secret bunker… ready to save humanity!
The colour scheme was perfect for the theme and left the bunker feeling militant and clinical. Not much more of note because of the style of room! Minimal is probably a good word to describe it, and minimal done well is an excellent achievement! It was very immersive in its theming and execution.
Sound could have been used a little more in the latter stages of the game to put the pressure on a little bit more (Maybe a T-Minus 20 minutes countdown or something similar)
Game Play:
GamEscape have really, really upped their game with “Armaggedon” – the game flows exceptionally well with a clear linearity, and the puzzles were for the most part entirely on theme.
There was a good mix of logic, word and maths… with a slight tendency to lean towards more observational puzzles. Those with a keen eye for detail will certainly love this room!
The game is certainly novel in its use of technology and in its physicality. It’s not a room that will get the pulse rate up, but it’s very tactile and “hands on”
New players would find this room challenging, enthusiasts are bound to like the novel reveals and cool tech in the room.
Clue System:
Clues were delivered via a mobile phone and a screen.
Game Host:
Our game host was ON POINTE with clue delivery and game timing, absolutely fantastic, delivering clues at the perfect time to push us along without leaving us stressing or feeling rushed!
Did we escape?
Yes, in 45 minutes. This was a game we really felt we took our time with and enjoyed each and every puzzle!

I was very, very pleased with this room. GamEscape have really upped their game with this instalment and it makes me excited to see what they can do in the future if they keep on going in the same way!
