Breakout Liverpool – Wanted: Cowboys. Game Date 13/07/2016. Team: Amy & Ian
Yes, yes… I KNOW I said that I was going to play Indians, but the decision was taken out of my hands, when I nipped to the loo, Ian chose which room we were playing. I think he secretly wanted another try at Cowboys!!
Theme:
“Wanted is a wild west themed room. Your quest in the room is to escape but you have two choices and ways to escape. Which side will you take, will you save the day as a cowboy or an Indian? Depending on your choice you will face different tasks and puzzles to complete. Which path will you take?”
Well, as I said before…. the decision was taken out of my hands as silly me hadn’t actually told Ian that Indian was the pick of the day… so he chose Cowboy!!
So Cowboys we would revisit. There is a rather good back story to Wanted:Cowboy, including drink, a gun and some double-crossing!
The themeing is great, with an old piano, saddles and other western paraphernalia strewn around the room…. the room is an old fitted bar, so it really helps the feel! (although I’m not sure they actually had stainless steel in the time of Cowboys, but I can use my suspension of disbelief on that point!)
Game Play:
The usual Breakout standard of plenty of combo padlocks! Some nice puzzles, even though we had played this room before, a couple of things tripped us up and slowed us down!! We still needed 5 clues (although a couple of them were redundant as we were already doing what the clue said – this is the trouble when the rooms have only cameras and no mics!)
Our Game Host, unlike last time, told us that our game one stayed to one specific side of the room! We weren’t told this last time and it helped immensly!
Clue System:
Clues were delivered via a screen and you’re alerted to them with a gunshot sound
Game Host:
Chloe R was our Game Host, she was brilliant, very helpful, friendly and seemed to really enjoy her job!
Did we escape?
Yes! (Which now gives us a perfect score) in a time of 34:00 – not record breaking but close! (The record is 29:00)

Thanks! We’ve still gotta tackle the Indian side though, It’s quite strange as you don’t cross to the other side at all during the game! Good fun though
