Escape Live – Dr Wilson’s Office. Game Date 21/08/2016. Team: Amy & Ian
Escape Live are situated in the Jewellery Quarter of Birmingham, a short walk from the city centre. Tucked away under some arches, but not hard to find at all (and this was our first trip to Birmingham City Centre) We were greeted and briefed promptly and off into the room we went!
Theme:
“Dr Wilson is a master detective who has solved many crimes in his distinguished career. But this case could prove to be deadly for him. One of the suspects he is investigating is threatening his life. Dr Wilson is now relying on you and your team to unveil the identity of the right suspect. He’s left clues around his office and it’s up to you to find them, solve the mystery and escape.”
Theming was superb, classy, clean and perfect to compliment the story! Everything fitted perfectly and nothing was out of place. It felt like stepping into another world from the waiting area
Game Play:
A classic game, plenty of padlocks and fun puzzles with nothing out of theme which was fantastic, sometimes a good room has some slight anachronisms which either detract or can be looked over but Dr Wilson’s office had none! One puzzle, which totally fried my little mind as I way over complicated part of it was very clever indeed! The room had a nice flow.
Clue System:
Clues were delivered via a Walkie Talkie, with a maximum of 6 clues in this game.
Game Host:
Amelia was our game host, she was welcoming, polite and gave great clues when asked (and explained things when we were stuck) She ran the game incredibly well!
We had a lovely chat to Amelia and also Jordan the site manager who was also incredibly friendly and very much passionate about the business and the whole Escape Room industry. 🙂
Did we escape?
Yes, with 56 seconds to spare, it was a CLOSE call!!
