Lockedinedinburgh- Gin Distillery.
Location: Edinburgh
Game Date 01/02/2017.
Team: Amy & Ian
So, after a brief interlude, in which we met Heidi and Dexter! (Heidi being Jackie’s partner and Dexter their SUPER cute doggy!) we were onto the next game at Lockedinedinburgh, Gin Distillery
Theme:
“Delve into the depths of modern day Summerhall, a cultural center for arts and alcohol lovers alike! We’ve partnered up with our neighbours at Pickering’s Gin to create a challenging and immersive experience- Locked in the Distillery.
Your mission here is to uncover the identity of the disgruntled employee plotting against the Distillery, find out what they’re up to, save yourself and save the gin!”
WOW! First impressions were amazing in this room, with a real gin distiller in the room, and an amazing copper contraption which was fascinating to look at… I adore the way the room is themed to a REAL gin company (housed downstairs) and there are nods all over the room and throughout the story to the real employees and gin making progress (I strongly recommend playing this room and then taking the gin distillery tour!) It’s really cool how detailed and real this room is!
Game Play:
A fabulously linear game, which played to our strengths perfectly.
You can certainly see the development from Animal Hospital to this game, as the flow was even better. The puzzles were all perfectly in theme again, with a good mix, all with perfect logic, those “ah-ha” moments just kept coming and coming and it was such a joy to play.
There were 3 or 4 puzzles I REALLY enjoyed, and that stood out and the finale puzzle was a lot of fun and has us running round the room using all our observational skills!
Newbies may find this room a little overpowering, as it’s not an easy room (but don’t let that put you off!)
Enthusiasts will love the unique themes and fantastic puzzles!
Clue System:
Clues were delivered by a very well themed screen in the room, there is no alert sound so a keen eye will need to be kept on the screen throughout the game.
Game Host:
Jackie & Heidi (and Dexter) hosted our game this time, and again were wonderful. I think we didn’t need as much help in this game, but when we did they were on it quick, never leaving us struggling at all! We chatted for an AGE after the game, and had a glimpse into their newest room “The Secret Lab” – which looks unbelievable, we can’t wait to get to try that one!
Did we escape?
Yes, in 48 minutes!
