lucardo espionage

Theme:
“The year is 1938, just prior to the outbreak of WWII. You and your team are part of the newly founded British Secret Intelligence Service. The War Office has had a number of classified documents stolen, which are thought to be held in a secret enemy bunker. Intelligence tells us the guards change every hour. Your Mission: crack the bunker security codes and recover the documents before the guards change.”

Theming was very good, as we’ve come to expect from Lucardo, the room was decorated well, and it was clean and crisp whilst still take us back in time to 1938 in the props and decor. The immersion was good, and really got us embroiled in the story and exploration of the room. A really impressive room with nothing out of place, enough decor & props to immersive, but also not too many to distract and annoy. Spot on again!

Game Play:
A game with fantastic flow that was fairly linear, a truly classic escape room, with lots of fun puzzles to get into and padlocks a plenty! (I was in padlock heaven, as I love a lock-heavy game!)
The puzzles leant more towards word play and observation which played to our strengths and we felt well within our comfort zone! The puzzles flowed from one to the next perfectly, and at no point did we feel stalled by the game, when we did stall we knew we were just missing something crucial, such is the fantastic logic of Lucardo’s gameplay.
Every single puzzle was so enjoyable, and they all had that “Ah-ha” moment, as well as being beautifully logical with no logic leaps what-so-ever. Masterful!
A perfect first room, I would recommend this to anyone who wants to dip their toe into the escape room water!
Enthusiasts will enjoy the execution of the puzzles and flow in this room, but I would recommend a smaller group so you can really get stuck in to every single puzzle and not miss a thing!

Clue System:
Clues were delivered via a screen

Game Host:
Jack was our game host again and ran our game with precision and ease, knowing exactly how to get us out of sticky situations (TBF I think we only used 1 hint!) We chatted for a while after and I really get the impression that he loves his job, and the industry, which is SO important to a game host!

Did we escape?
Yes, in  43 minutes!
