Atherton Escape Rooms – The Log Cabin.
Location: Atherton
Game Date: 12/07/2018.
Team: Amy, Ian, Mum & Dad
Theme:
“A retired detective leaves a distinguished career blemished with just one unsolved case. A group of campers had disappeared without a trace, despite searching the area & a nearby log cabin the case remained unsolved. The retired detective, unable to let the case rest still believes the Cabin holds the key to the mystery. Can you find the secret behind the Log Cabin?… ”
Decoration to begin with was good, but lacked a little in the latter rooms. The room was large and well lit, with plenty of space and places to sit down and chill whilst solving the puzzles.
Game Play:
A linear game that was made up with searching (both with black-light and regular) word, & observation puzzles.
Most of the puzzles were decent in their logic, there was one that we would never have thought to do but for the main part the game flowed OK.
There wasn’t masses of signposting, and for the most part using what locks we had to open was the best way of keeping track of what we had to do.
An enjoyable room, where all of us had moments of clarity and solved puzzles.
A standard room for beginners, and good for people who want to dip their toe into the waters of escape rooms. Enthusiasts may find it on the easy side.
Clue System:
Clues were delivered via a screen
Game Host:
Michaela was our host, and whilst she was friendly and chatty, there was a time where we asked for a hint (our only 1) and were left waiting for a while… I think this is due to the facts that there are no microphones in the room, this to me is a vital element to excellent clue delivery.
Did we escape?
Yes, in 36 minutes!
