Lockdown Ormskirk – The Ministry

Theme:
“Witches & Wizards required! The Dark Forces have infiltrated the Ministry in search of the powerful Cintamani Stone. Their search will lead them straight to you! Do you have the magical ability to escape before you are captured…? ”
The Ministry looked GORGEOUS, a really, really pretty and well decorated room. Again, Lockdown have put everything into the detail in this room. What looks like a standard “study” upon further inspection becomes a magical world full of floting candles and other secrets.
The room, whilst gorgeous decorated had a lot more “stuff” than the other 2 rooms and we found ourselves getting bogged down and distracted by some items in the room, on the whole though this wasn’t too bad and I can imagine most teams would do the same.
Game Play:
A fairly linear game, that had a good assortment of puzzles from teamwork, to searching, observation and word. A good, balanced mix.
Puzzles were excellent in their logic, and never failed to delight and surprise with lovely ah-ha moments that kept coming at every turn.
The puzzles were intrisic to the room, almost seeming to come from within the room itself and presenting in such a way that they just alway been there, woven into the fabric of the story and setting.
We had a small tech hitch in the game and this was delt with skillfully by our gamehost, I would like to commend them on their excellent handling of the issue.
Flow was wonderful, not the fastest paced game but a smooth game that allows you to really settle into the room and enjoy the beautiful sets.
Signposting was not as easily come by as the other 2 rooms, but was still available should you require it.
A magical ending to this game put the cherry on top and sealed it as a very good experience.

Our game host (ans also the owner) ran our game well, he was friendly, professional and very enthusiastic about escaping!
Covid19 Safety:
All guidelines were adhered to, masks were worn, hosts stayed soically distanced and the rooms were clean.
