“We’ve just received troubling news earlier today that General Mayhem has become unstable! Before he could be relieved of command, he has activated the counter strike nuclear protocol and disabled the mainframe system!
Gain access to the abort button hidden within the General’s bunker and deactivate the counter strike. It’s the only way to stop the nuke before it’s too late! With only 60 minutes on the clock, this mission is sure to go out with a bang! Can you save the world? Or will it all blow up in your face?”
Strike force looked great, decorated well, with there being no distractions or red herrings.
The space felt immersive and realistic, with a great number of age-appropriate props and set decoration from floor to ceiling. A very immersive bunker!
Game Play:
A linear game that had a good assortment of puzzles, observation, word, aural, searching, communication and logic puzzles were the focus of strike force. The game was a fairly standard escape room affair, and it was almost refreshing to find a linear game with a classic feel that played exceptionally well. This is due to the skill of the game designers at Panic Room, they never disappoint!
The puzzles were all well in theme and felt intrinsic to the room, tying into the story well and always pushing us forward to our end goal.
The puzzles were explicitly logical, fair, and solvable. With no ambiguity each puzzle was a JOY to solve, with ah-ha moments at every turn and clear, precise puzzling.
Signposting was excellent, clear and focused.
Flow was wonderful, with the linear nature leading us through the game smoothly.
An enjoyable game for enthusiasts with a refreshed feel of those classic games, but an even more perfect game for newbies to teach them how to play!
