Can You Escape – Operation Lone Eagle

Can You Escape – Operation Lone Eagle
Location: York
Game Date: 24/06/2022
Team: Amy & Ian
Duration: 60 Minutes

052

Theme:
An embarrassing incident earlier this year left Doctor Aquila Mind red faced. Not taking the incident lightly, he has since been working on a machine that will erase the incident and all other memories from people’s minds. Do you have what it takes to stop him?

A classically decorated room, this game instantly took us back to the early days of escape rooms! Now, this is not to say it was a bad thing, as it fits the theme perfectly and there was plenty to look at investigate within the space! The decoration was nicely finished and there wasn’t anything within the game to distract or annoy us.
The space was well lit at all times, and quite spacious.

Game Play:
An open game with masses of puzzles, leaning toward searching and logic puzzles. There was a good mix of puzzles, that all tied in well to the story and theme of the game. The puzzles all culminated into one large meta puzzle, which was a joy to solve!
The ah-ha moments in the room were nice and the logic behind all the puzzles was fairly sound.
Signposting was good, without being directive.
This is definitely an old style game, but don’t let that fool you, there was still some great game play, it was well-honed and worked very well indeed!

Clue System:
Clues were delivered via voice over

Game Host:
Our Host was very friendly, gave a great brief and clued us just at the right time through the game.

Did we escape?
Yes, in about 50 minutes!
