11th Hour Escape Rooms – Exit Visa.
Location: Chippenham, Wiltshire

We were spending a couple of nights down south so we decided to make a last minute appointment to play “Exit Visa” at 11th Hour Escape, we travelled over to Wiltshire (from Slough!) to find them nestled next to a car dealer in the middle of the gorgeous countryside!

Theme:
“Enter a world of fame and rock and roll! The world renowned band, EXIT VISA, have gone missing, presumed dead, in a plane crash in the Bermuda Triangle. The only copy of their latest album was reported to be onboard. However, the plane crash site has not been found…. What happened to the band? Where is the album? Was it all planned? Can you help quash the rumours of the bands untimely demise and escape the room with the answer? You have 60 minutes..”

The theme and story was executed perfectly, with the setting being a recording studio…legit mixing boards, guitars, drum kits… the works!
Oh and not forgetting the standard comfy leather couch (as anyone who’s been in a studio knows this is a MUST!)
I really can’t praise the theming enough, it was JUST right, nothing was out of place in the room and it felt incredibly authentic and immersive

Game Play:
A standard linear game, with some really, really nice puzzles. NOTHING was out of place, every puzzle in the game related to something musical/rock n roll or to the story, which unfolded beautifully throughout the game, and actually came to an excellent conclusion! A joy to play, with lots of key finding and padlock opening, it was right up our street!

Clue System:
Clues were delivered via a screen, that was actually worked into being part of he sound desk in the recording studio! The clues were offered to you as well, which meant that rather than just popping up, the player is able to accept or decline a clue, a very neat idea we’d not seen implemented before!

Game Host:
Tim & Lizzie were our game hosts, clearly passionate about their game (and they should be as they conceived and produced it from scratch) and very welcoming & friendly too! Tim delivered his brief & story with gusto, charm and comedy and really helped us feel ready for the game ahead!

Did we escape?
Yep! With 7.56 left! We got a lovely parting gift too, which was totally unexpected!
