Theme:
“From what we can gather, Tommy has established itself in 1917, somewhere in the midst of the Western Front. Early reports suggest that Tommy is situated within an allied forces military bunker on the front lines. There is a very significant chance the slight possibility that the portal may malfunction once you have made your crossing, in which case, you’ll need to work together to repair the portal whilst also ensuring your safety from impending German forces.”

Theming and set design were excellent in Tommy, the picture about is an accurate representation of the level of theming. It’s actually from the room… Wow!
With a excellent sound track too, Tommy really captures the imagination and is so immersive!
Props and decor are authentic, and the room oozes character and takes you away to 1917.  You can’t help but throw yourself into the story and thoroughly enjoy the experience.
Realistic, detailed and fully immersive. I was really enthralled with the level of detail, obvious love and passion that have gone into creating Tommy. Everything fits perfectly and creating a real world to travel to!
There are moments of complete darkness and some small spaces within the room, but these do not impact on game play at all!

Game Play:
Focused on creating a realistic experience, Tommy’s game play is very tactile, and mostly lies in fun “physical” puzzles… nothing too arduous but an emphasis on “making do” – which fits in with the theme perfectly.
There are a couple of more logical “code-breaking” style puzzles, which compliment the physical puzzles and all work towards the end goal.
The flow of the room was excellent, at no point were we frustrated  and all the puzzles had good ah-ha moments.
The ending of the room is a lot of fun, and something that we’ve never had to do in an escape room before (and highly doubt we’ll ever have to do again!)
Overall, Tommy is a lovely room that would spoil newbies as it’s so good and enthusiasts will appreciate the dedication to theming and intrinsic nature of the puzzles.

Clue System:
Clues were delivered via a walkie talkie, which is the best way to communicate through time (obvs!)

Game Host:
Joe & Stu were our game hosts (and also the owners, and game designers) and they are hilarious, really great guys with excellent comedy and banter in their pre-game brief. In fact, the sense of comedy throughout Unescapable really appealed to me! In such a serious setting as a time travel facility, the humour is really well done!
Joe & Stu ran our game well, with Joe delivering hints only when we really needed them! Excellent hosting

Did we escape?
Yes, in 40 minutes!
