Will you become the most powerful pirate known to man, or will you be spending eternity down in Davy Jones locker?”
This room! Wow. We were suitably impressed, this is the first time we have seen a pirate ship truly split over 2 decks… y’know the type with the wheel above the Captain’s cabin… this is a truly impressive room and beautifully crafted, with excellent attention to detail and immersion. A large room, which is quite physical due to the 2 decks! Bravo!
Game Play:
A fairly linear game, with a whole wealth of puzzles, word, logic, observation, codebreaking & physical.
With every puzzle being perfectly logical, with great ah-ha moments leading to solid conclusions. With a lovely mix of padlocks and technology, but nothing that was out of themes.
This room didn’t suffer from the same fate as Kidnapped as the starting point was blatantly clear, which lead to a wonderful flow in the room, and we didn’t feel slowed or stuck on anything, and it was always obvious what answer lead to which padlock. Excellent game design.
On a personal note, it was like this room was built for Ian and I. We have never been so at ease in a room in regards to puzzles… answers came instantly and not a single clue was given or needed. I enjoyed the puzzles a lot in this room!
This would be a great room for first timers, enthusiasts may find it a little on the easy side but will certainly appreciate the work gone into creating the room.
