Theme:
“You and your friends wake up inside a gloomy and grim basement. You have been chosen as the next victims of a deranged killer with an obsession for dolls and mannequins known for stripping the flesh off of his victims and much worse.
A grim and haunting tale with many twists and turns to get your heart racing, blood curdling and adrenaline pumping.
His collection grows day by day and night by night, will be become his latest victims? Can you find a way out where so many have failed before you?
This is an escape room you really will want to get out of!”
The Dollhouse was super creepy, dilapidated and slightly clinical, for experiments clearly. Incredibly immersive and very well done, again the utmost care has been taken to ensure immersion without red herrings or too much clutter.
If you are scared of dolls, The Dollhouse will surely creep you out immensely, but there is a twisted sense of humour behind the decoration that any horror fan will love. The space is large, and moments of the game do take place within total darkness. But it is certainly not the entire game.
Game Play:
A game that is fairly linear, with open elements and puzzles not critical to success (A very interesting choice!) Although we may have happened across one answer to a puzzle through a combination of luck, and previous visits (I am being deliberately vague as I do not want to post spoilers!)
The puzzles were excellent, logical and contained logic, codebreaking, physical, vocal, audio, observation word. A real selection box of puzzles wrapped up in a brilliant story.
The flow was superb, and the difficulty level was pitched just right with the creepy factor! The ah-ha moments came easily, sometimes with a little nudge, but there were no logic leaps, everything made perfect sense!
A brilliant game that will keep enthusiasts on their toes but may flummox complete newbies, maybe take a big team as there is safety in numbers…
Clue System:
Clues were delivered via a screen and voice over
Game Host:
Alex was our Game Host and did a tremendous job! He was friendly but had an edge which worked incredibly well with the room, he delivered clues with expertise, nudging us in the right direction to keep us up to speed.
Did we escape?
Yes, in 51 minutes!
