Mission Exit – Not Guilty.
Location: Dukinfield
Game Date 20/09/2017.
Team: Amy, Sam & Jamie
THIS GAME HAS NOW CLOSED
It had been a while since we had been to Mission Exit and after chatting to fellow enthusiasts Same & Jamie (of Lock us up, check out their review here) we decided to go and play Not Guilty in a four, as it’s only about 10 minutes from them. Unfortunately due to unforseen circumstances Ian had to drop out, so it was just myself Sam & Jamie going along to play!
Theme:
“You and a group of friends have been framed for a murder that you didn’t commit. You have one hour to not only find a way out, but to gather all the evidence needed to take the real perpetrator down.
The evidence is bursting to escape…but are you ?”
A simply decorated room, which was large enough to accommodate the max group size (although not as HUGE as the Killer code) The decoration was good, with a huge insignia on the wall to signify we were in the police station.
The room was very well lit, and atmospheric but not the most immersive, I was still very aware I was in an escape room (and that was fine!) It was also very clean and there were no red herrings in the room, everything was there for a reason and there was nothing that was inherently out of place.
Game Play:
A fairly linear game with several different starting points, (be aware you are handcuffed to start the game) A fair mix of puzzles, with searching & observation being the focus. There are a couple of really nice puzzles in this room, all the puzzles have sound logic, and nice ah-ha moments.
There was one which I enjoyed after making up my own answer to it and seeing that I was along the right lines!
There are plenty of nice logical things to do in this room. The flow was OK, there were a couple of times we came to a dead stop but it was down to us missing something and as soon as we got a hint we were off again.
A sound game, the flow works and the game is logical and interesting.
It’s lovely to see the development and improvement from Mission Exit’s first game, it’s a notable change from The Killer’s Code to Not Guilty, and shows that the team at Mission Exit are always striving to up their game.
Enthusiasts take a small group, a 2 or a 3. Newbies take 4-5 and work hard!
Clue System:
Clues were delivered via hand written notes from another prisoner!
Game Host:
Alex was our game host and was great, friendly and willing to chat about escaping for ages, he clearly has a lot of passion and enthusiasm for escaping and his business. He ran our game well, delivering hints only when we really needed them!
Did we escape?
Yes! We were found not guilty in 55 minutes!
