Theme:
“Meltdown! You have been locked in the control room of a nuclear power plant by a disgruntled ex-employee who has initiated nuclear meltdown.

Can you complete the experiments he has left you before the countdown reaches zero?”

A simply decorated room yet well done for the lab theme, the decor was clean, sterile and pleasant. There could have been a tendency to overdo it in a lab setting but there was none of that, which served to help the focus of the game as there were no red herrings or distractions.

Game Play:
A linear game, which had a  good variety of puzzles that leant more towards the logical and scientific side of things. An excellent start proved that teamwork is needed to proceed within the room, and it used a very creative method to foster that teamwork.
Once into the main game, the puzzles were all well on the theme and the meta nature was refreshing and interesting. The logic was good within the puzzles with some tricker moments that left us collectively scratching our heads, but with a little bit of outside the box thinking the logic was found. All the puzzles and tasks had wonderful Ah-ha moments with lots of little surprises and REAL science!
The signposting was good, fairly subtle but it steered us well within the game.
The flow was excellent, a really well-paced game that ran smoothly but slowly dialled up the tension and difficulty as the game progressed. Very well-conceived.

Clue System:
Clues were delivered via a walkie talkie

Game Host:
Liam was our game host, and it is clear that his passion for science had a great effect on his escape room! His hosting was good, with a good brief and intro being delivered to us before the game

Did we escape?
Yes, with about 11 minutes remaining
