room-list-1

Theme:
“The mysterious LIFE Foundation claim to have discovered the key to eternal life. Potential candidates for the program are invited to their secret testing centre, where a lucky few may discover the truth.”

Eternal Life started its immersion before we had even set foot in the room, with our host greeting us completley in character and setting the scene, story and somewhat covert nature of our visit before we had walked down the stairs! Working the brief into the story this created a cohesive world, that we were sucked into and wanted to find our more…
Once we were in the room, we were greeted by a seemingly stark test area, that was decorated simply, cleanly and finished to a high standard, with an almost 70s vibe to it. However, its genius lies in its simplicity, it was still a room that had lots of discovery, fun twists and mind bending tricks!
A large space that will easily accomodate the max of 6 players, with excellent lighting throughout.

Game Play:
A fairly open game that had a vast array of puzzles, word, logic, observation, codebreaking, cypher, physical, skill, math, teamwork, we were really put through our puzzle solving paces in Eternal Life!
Puzzles were beautifully logical, with clear concise solves, and wonderful ah-ha moments. These were puzzles that made you feel incredibly clever when you solved them, this is what rooms should be aiming for, everyone likes to feel clever and succeed throughout their time in the room.
The puzzles, whilst on first glance seemed like a wild assortment, were all nicely on theme and suited to the story (We were in a testing facility after all!)
Signposting was clever, not too obvious that we felt guided but enough to provide clarity and direction, especially in the latter parts of the game.
Flow was wonderful, and the game moved well from puzzle to puzzle, it’s clear that there has been thought put into the design of Eternal Life.
Eternal Life has a feel of the old click and point escape games, it’s a little bit retro, but with much better game play and logic which brings it firmly up-to-date.
A great room for any level of player, this is bound to please all who set foot inside!

Clue System:
Clues were delivered via a screen.

Game Host:
Our game host, Noel, was also one of the owners of Tempo, and what a delight he was, from his in character brief, to his perfect hosting (he read our game with excellence, and pinpoint precision) and the lovely addition of a drink, a little cake and a lovely chat afterwards, we came away from Tempo with a warm fuzzy feeling that they are hosting everyone perfectly.

Did we escape?
Yes, in around 40 minutes.
